Robert Skinner

Coach Skinner comes to the Stingers from Coker College after he spent three years as an assistant baseball coach working primarily with hitters and infielders. While helping lead the Cobras to their first NCAA Regional tournament championship and making their first NCAA World Series appearance in 2013, he was also over the strength and conditioning responsibilities for the baseball program. He received his Master’s in Athletic Administration from Coker in 2015.

After receiving his Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Lander University in 2011, Skinner served as an assistant baseball coach for a year with Florence-Darlington Technical College. He was part of the Stingers’ monumental year in 2012, being crowned Region X Regular Season Champions with a record of 44-12 (20-4).

Along with his collegiate coaching experience, Skinner was a four-year starter for the Lander University baseball program from 2008-2011.

A native from Hartsville, SC, Skinner helped lead the Red Foxes to a Class 4A State Championship his senior year. He graduated from Mayo High School for Math, Science & Technology in 2007.

Skinner is a certified Sport Performance Coach with USA-Weightlifting (USAW), the official governing body of U.S. Olympic Weightlifting.

Skinner joined the FDTC staff as Director of Strength and Nutrition in the Fall of 2016.
