FDTC offers small classes with individual attention, student support and tutoring services, and a wide range of academic programs. As a student-athlete, you will have the opportunity to step in and play right away without sitting on the bench for two years. This will help you improve your athletic skills and make you more attractive to four-year institutions.

What Conference do you play in?

Florence-Darlington Tech is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Division I, Region X. The Region consists of schools in North and South Carolina, as well as Virginia.

Are college scholarships available?

As standard in most colleges, many forms of financial aid may be available for the student-athlete, but it is based on individual financial circumstances. There are college scholarships available and governed through the college Athletic Department.

Will my classes transfer to a four-year college?

Florence-Darlington Tech is a two-year institution that is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees. Therefore, most classes will transfer to any four-year school.

What kind of softball field do you have?

The Lady Stingers will practice and play their games at the Old FMU Softball Field on Francis Marion University's campus. It features a natural grass surface with dimensions of 190 feet in left and right field, and 220 feet in center field. The field has seating for approximately 200 spectators.

What kind of baseball field do you have?

The Florence-Darlington Technical College Stingers' Baseball team will practice at the Old Cormell Field and split their home games between Old Cormell Field and the new Clifford S. Cormell Field at Sparrow Stadium. Old Cormell Field dimensions are 320 to left and right fields, 365 to the power alleys, and 400 to center field. Seating accommodates 400 spectators with standing room for up to 1,000. Sparrow Stadium consists of 800 seats with capacity of 1,755, and includes concession area, restrooms, VIP room, and pressbox. The field dimensions are 330 feet down each line, 375 feet to the power alleys, and 400 feet to center, with approximately the same foul territory as at Old Cormell Field. Bullpens are located down each foul line, and the field house is located adjacent to the bullpen down the right field line.
