FDTC, ranked #8 in the NJCAA preseason polls, faced a formidable opponent in FSW, ranked #3, in Fort Myers. Cook delivered a standout performance for the Stingers, going 3-for-4 at the plate, scoring twice, and driving in two runs. His home run came as the first batter of the game. Oneill Feliz and Diego Garcia each contributed with solo home runs, hitting them back-to-back, to bring the game within two runs in the top of the 8th inning. In total, there were eight home runs between both teams.
On the mound, the Stingers' pitching staff allowed 10 hits and seven earned runs. Lukas Loring took the loss, surrendering three runs in his single inning of relief. Despite the setback, the bullpen showed resilience, particularly from Elvin Pascual and Seth Manning, who both managed a scoreless inning without allowing a hit.
