FLORENCE, S.C. — Florence-Darlington Technical College completed a doubleheader sweep with a 10–3 win over Catawba Valley Community College in game two.
The Stingers' offense stayed hot, collecting nine hits and scoring early to seize control. Gabe Herold continued his strong day at the plate, scoring three runs and going 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Jace Rainey provided a big swing, launching a home run and driving in three runs.
FDTC jumped out to a three-run lead in the first inning and maintained steady pressure throughout the game. Jacob Brown added two doubles and an RBI, while Diego Garcia and Jake Zehner chipped in extra-base hits with a double and a triple, respectively.
On the mound, Sanders earned the win after allowing just one run over four innings while striking out five. The Stingers' pitching staff combined for nine strikeouts, limiting Catawba Valley's offensive opportunities.
With the victory, FDTC extended its winning streak to six games. The Stingers will next face Harford Community College in an upcoming doubleheader.
