FLORENCE, S.C. — BJ Balls' two RBI double leads Florence-Darlington Technical College to defeat East Georgia College 5-2 at Carolina Bank Stadium.
FDTC secured a 5-2 victory against East Georgia State, capitalizing on a productive fourth inning where it scored four runs. Trailing early, the Stingers seized control in the bottom of the fourth, plating four runs to break the game open. Balls delivered the pivotal blow — a two-run double — finishing 1-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Jake Zehner added to the offensive, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base.
On the mound, Elijah Sanders earned his first victory of the season with a composed four-inning outing. The right-hander allowed two runs on two hits while striking out six. Dylan Shaffer was dominant in relief, tossing three scoreless innings to record the save. He surrendered just one hit, struck out four, and walked one to secure the win.
Despite committing two defensive errors, the Stingers limited East Georgia State to just three hits overall, combining timely pitching with clutch hitting to close out the contest.
