FLORENCE, S.C. — The Stingers' win streak comes to an end as Florence-Darlington Tech falls to Brunswick Community College 3-0.
FDTC faced a tough challenge against Brunswick Community College, resulting in a 3-0 loss on Wednesday. The Stingers managed only two hits throughout the game. Gabe Herold and JC Gamble each secured a hit, with Herold also contributing a stolen base. Despite these efforts, the Stingers were unable to capitalize, leaving six runners on base. Defensively, the Stingers committed two errors, which compounded their struggles on the field.
Pitching for the Stingers was solid. Tony Shannon took the loss, allowing two earned runs and a home run in his two innings of work. Peyton Rogers started the game, delivering two scoreless innings with one strikeout. Elvin Pascual and Nick Cappello combined for 3 1/3 innings of relief, giving up no earned runs while striking out four batters. Despite the solid effort from the pitching staff, Brunswick's offense, led by a 2-run home run, proved to be the difference-maker in the game.
