FLORENCE, S.C. — Jackson Cionek hits his first home run of the season as Florence-Darlington Technical College turned in another complete performance Tuesday, defeating Southeastern Community College 15–3 at Dailey Field.
The Stingers' offense set the tone early and finished with a balanced attack at the plate. BJ Balls drove in four runs, going 2-for-4 with two doubles. Tristan Strickland reached base in all of his plate appearances, finishing 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored, and a stolen base from the leadoff spot. Jackson Cook added to the production with a 2-for-4 performance that included three RBIs and two runs scored, while Jackson Cionek provided the big swing with a three-run home run and crossed the plate twice. Florence-Darlington Tech also applied pressure on the bases, swiping four stolen bases — one each from Strickland, Cook, Jace Rainey, and Diego Garcia.
On the mound, the Stingers limited Southeastern to six hits across seven innings. Starter Dylan Shaffer allowed one unearned run in his inning of work while striking out two. Gabe Murray followed with two scoreless innings, surrendering no hits and recording two strikeouts as the pitching staff maintained control throughout. Despite committing two errors defensively, Florence-Darlington Tech remained steady and never allowed the game to tighten, securing its second consecutive strong showing on both sides of the ball.
The Stingers open their home regional slate this weekend with a three-game series against USC Lancaster.
