FLORENCE, S.C. — Jackson Mullen delivered a historic performance on the mound, throwing a five-inning perfect game to lead Florence-Darlington Technical College Stingers baseball to a dominant 12–0 victory over USC Salkehatchie at Dailey Field.
Mullen was flawless throughout the contest, retiring all 15 batters he faced while striking out seven. He did not allow a hit or a walk in the five-inning outing. The only moment of potential trouble came against the first batter of the game, who worked the count to three balls before Mullen recorded the out. No other batter reached a three-ball count for the remainder of the game.
The performance marked just the second perfect game in program history, and the first since Brandon Hester accomplished the feat on March 18, 2015.
Offensively, the Stingers were powered by Jacob Brown, who hit a home run and drove in five runs while scoring twice. Jake Little also contributed a strong performance at the plate with two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs. Jackson Cook added an RBI and a stolen base, while Diego Garcia recorded a double and drove in a run as Florence-Darlington's offense supported the historic outing with a balanced attack.
This win improves the Stingers to 5–2 in regional play. The Stingers will face USC Salkehatchie again tomorrow in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
