Stingers Cruise Past USC Sumter 15–0 Behind Garcia’s Grand Slam

SUMTER, S.C. — Diego Garcia hit a grand slam to lead Florence-Darlington Technical College to a 15–0 victory over USC Sumter at Riley Park.
Florence-Darlington's offense erupted for 15 runs on 15 hits in the dominant win. Garcia powered the Stingers' lineup with a grand slam and five RBIs to pace the scoring effort. Jackson Cionek also had a strong day at the plate, recording three hits, scoring two runs and driving in one. Jake Zehner added three hits and scored twice, while Gabe Herold contributed two hits, scored two runs and stole a base.
Florence-Darlington's pitching staff combined for a four-hit shutout. Peyton Rogers earned the start and pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing three hits while striking out one. Cooper Coleman and Nick Cappello followed with scoreless relief appearances to keep USC Sumter off the board before Bryson Harper closed the game with a strikeout. Defensively, the Stingers committed just one error.
Following the series against USC Sumter, the Stingers improved to 9–3 in regional play. Up next, the Stingers return home to face Robeson Community College on Wednesday before hosting USC Union for a three-game series this weekend.
