FLORENCE, S.C. — BJ Balls' two home runs and four RBIs powers Florence-Darlington Technical College to a 15–7 victory over USC Union at Dailey Field.
Balls led the Stingers at the plate with two home runs and four RBIs, anchoring a well-rounded offensive effort. Tristan Strickland and Gabe Herold each added a home run and two RBIs, while Jake Little also contributed a long ball. Jackson Cook provided additional impact, recording two hits, two RBIs, and two stolen bases. Florence-Darlington Tech's aggressive approach on the basepaths proved pivotal, as the team totaled 13 stolen bases. Jace Rainey led the way with four steals, while Herold and Diego Garcia added three apiece.
On the mound, Peyton Rogers earned the win, pitching 3 1/3 innings and allowing five runs on four hits while striking out two. The bullpen provided stability, with Gavin MacDonald and Bryson Harper combining for effective relief. Harper was particularly strong, allowing just one run over three innings and striking out four. Collectively, the Stingers' pitching staff limited USC Union to eight hits.
Through the first half of regional play, the Stingers sit in second place with a 12–3 record. They trail Gaston by one game and are set to host them next weekend at Dailey Field in a key matchup.
