FLORENCE, S.C. — Tristan Strickland hit a home run and recorded five RBIs, but Florence-Darlington Technical College fell to Gaston College 12–10 at Dailey Field.
Florence-Darlington Technical College dropped a 12–10 decision to Gaston College in a high-scoring contest on Sunday. Despite the loss, Tristan Strickland delivered an outstanding performance, going 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs. He also added two stolen bases, making an impact both at the plate and on the basepaths.
Pat Costin contributed with two hits and an RBI, while Oneill Feliz added a double and an RBI to support the Stingers' offensive effort. Jake Little also recorded two hits, including a pair of doubles, as Florence-Darlington totaled 14 hits in the game.
On the mound, Cooper Coleman started and pitched four innings, allowing three runs while striking out five batters. Florence-Darlington utilized seven pitchers in the contest, but the bullpen was unable to contain Gaston's offense, which produced 18 hits.
Despite a strong showing offensively, the Stingers were unable to overcome Gaston's late scoring, falling just short in the back-and-forth matchup.
