FLORENCE, S.C. — Tristan Strickland's two-run home run accounted for the Stingers' only scoring as Florence-Darlington Technical College fell 12–2 to USC Sumter at Dailey Field.
Florence-Darlington Technical College was limited offensively in a 12–2 loss to USC Sumter. The Stingers recorded just four hits in the contest, with Tristan Strickland providing the lone highlight by hitting a two-run home run in the fifth inning.
Gabe Herold, Jake Zehner, and Oneill Feliz each added a hit, but Florence-Darlington was unable to generate sustained offensive momentum.
On the mound, Cooper Coleman took the loss after allowing seven runs on six hits over two innings. Elvin Pascual provided relief, pitching 2 1/3 innings while allowing one earned run on one hit and recording a strikeout. Dylan Shaffer closed out the game, surrendering two runs in 2/3 of an inning.
The Stingers' pitching staff faced challenges containing USC Sumter's offense, which capitalized with three home runs. Florence-Darlington will look to regroup as it prepares for its final regular season series at USC Union.
