LEXINGTON, S.C. — Behind a dominant outing from Jackson Mullen, Florence-Darlington Technical College opened Region 10 Tournament play with a 6–1 victory over USC Sumter.
Florence-Darlington set the tone early, as Jake Little launched a solo home run to ignite the offense. The Stingers added two runs in the second inning and broke the game open with four more in the fourth. Jackson Cook and Tristan Strickland led the offensive effort, each driving in two runs on two hits as part of a nine-hit team performance. Oneill Feliz contributed with a double and scored twice to help fuel the attack.
Mullen delivered a commanding performance on the mound, tossing seven innings while allowing just one run on three hits and striking out five to earn the win. Cooper Coleman closed out the final two innings, not allowing a hit and recording two strikeouts to preserve the victory. Florence-Darlington's defense was equally impressive, playing error-free baseball and limiting USC Sumter to just three hits.
The Stingers advance to face Gaston at 1 p.m. Sunday, with the winner earning a spot in Monday's championship game.
