Stingers Advance to the Region Championship

LEXINGTON, S.C. — Elijah Sanders struck out eight batters in a dominant start as Florence-Darlington Technical College defeated Gaston College, 4–1.
Florence-Darlington Technical College relied on strong pitching and timely hitting to secure the win and advance in the Region 10 Tournament. Sanders earned the victory, allowing just one hit over 4 1/3 innings while recording eight strikeouts. Bryson Harper provided steady relief, tossing three innings and allowing one run on three hits. Cooper Coleman closed the game with 1 2/3 scoreless innings, earning the save and preserving the Stingers' lead.
Offensively, the Stingers capitalized on key opportunities. Kevin Bruno led the way with two hits and an RBI, while Jackson Cook added two hits, a run scored, and a stolen base. Jake Zehner contributed with a double and a run scored, helping pace the offense.
Despite committing two errors, Florence-Darlington limited Gaston College to just one run on five hits. With the victory, the Stingers remain the only unbeaten team in the double-elimination tournament and advance to the Region 10 Championship game, scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday.
