BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK REGION 10 CHAMPIONS
Florence-Darlington Technical College captured the Region 10 Championship with an 8–3 victory over Gaston College on Monday.
LEXINGTON, S.C. — Florence-Darlington Technical College captured the Region 10 Championship for the third straight year with an 8–3 victory over Gaston College on Monday.
Florence-Darlington delivered a complete performance, combining timely hitting with effective pitching to secure the title. Gabe Herold led the offensive effort, recording two hits, including a home run, while scoring three runs and driving in another. Jackson Cook provided a spark with a double and a triple, scoring multiple runs, while Jake Little added a home run and an RBI. Jake Zehner also contributed with a double and a run scored as the Stingers produced consistent offense throughout the game.
On the mound, Jackson Mullen earned the win, allowing one run on one hit over three innings while striking out two. Bryson Harper was outstanding in relief, tossing 3 1/3 scoreless innings and allowing just two hits while striking out two. Cooper Coleman closed the game with a scoreless inning to secure the championship. As a staff, the Stingers limited Gaston College to seven hits and controlled the game from start to finish.
With the victory, Florence-Darlington advances to the East District Championship, where it will host Harford Community College this weekend at Dailey Field.
