SWAINSBORO, Ga. — Six different Stingers' had a hit as Florence Darlington Technical College fell to East Georgia State College 5-3.
FDTC had a close, competitive matchup against East Georgia State, ultimately falling 5-3. Despite the loss, Keira Bell delivered a strong performance, contributing two runs and an RBI, while drawing a walk in her three at-bats. Payton Melinauskas and Hayleigh Atkinson each added an RBI, with Melinauskas also securing a walk during the contest. The team managed six hits in total, but struggled to capitalize on opportunities, leaving seven runners on base.
On the mound, Natalie Hunter pitched five innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and issuing three walks. Zoei Hunt provided relief, facing five batters over one inning without allowing a hit or run, while walking two. Despite the pitching efforts, the Stingers were unable to overcome East Georgia State's timely scoring, which included a decisive two-run sixth inning. Looking forward, the Lady Stinger's will host Georgia Military College at home for a double header on Tuesday.
