BARNESVILLE, Ga. — Keira Bell delivered a strong all-around performance, but Florence-Darlington Technical College fell to Gordon State College, 4-3.
Bell led the way for Florence-Darlington both at the plate and in the circle. She went 2-for-4 with a run scored and pitched a complete game, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out two. A three-run second inning by Gordon State proved to be the difference.
Makayla Huggins drove in two runs, finishing 1-for-3 at the plate, while Hayleigh Atkinson added an RBI, going 1-for-2 with a walk. Florence-Darlington recorded seven hits in the contest but was unable to capitalize on key opportunities and left multiple runners on base. Defensively, Florence-Darlington committed three errors, which contributed to the narrow defeat. The Lady Stingers will have six games next week, starting with the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic on Monday.
