GASTONIA, N.C. — Makayla Huggins' solo home run accounted for Florence-Darlington Technical College's only run in a 6–1 loss to Gaston College at CaroMont Health Park.
Florence-Darlington Technical College was limited offensively in a 6–1 defeat to Gaston College. Makayla Huggins provided the lone highlight for the Stingers, delivering a solo home run to account for the team's only run of the game. Skylar Dymond contributed two of Florence-Darlington's three hits, as the lineup struggled to generate consistent offense against Gaston's pitching.
In the circle, Abby Quick pitched a complete six-inning game, allowing five hits and four earned runs while striking out three batters. Despite her efforts, Gaston capitalized on key opportunities, including two home runs from Katelyn Brandon, who drove in five runs.
