SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Olivia Goforth recorded two hits and drove in a pair of runs, but Florence-Darlington Technical College fell to Monroe University, 8–4.
Florence-Darlington Technical College was unable to overcome an early deficit despite solid offensive contributions. Goforth led the way, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Kai Pace added a strong performance, collecting a double, stealing two bases, and scoring twice while driving in a run. Mandy Wells contributed a triple, and Payton Melinauskas added two hits as the Lady Stingers continued to apply pressure at the plate.
In the circle, Keira Bell pitched a complete game, allowing eight runs on 13 hits while striking out five over seven innings. Bell also contributed offensively with a hit and a run scored. Defensive miscues proved costly, as three unearned runs helped Monroe University maintain control of the game. The Lady Stingers look to respond quickly to keep their postseason hopes alive.
